Makoto Iida (VSOLJ; Nagano, Japan) has checked the field of the potential
Nov. 2 ALEXIS transient. His observation was done around 3.5 UT (through
clouds) using CCD. He tells he could safely reject a new object brighter
than mag 12.4. By comparing with photographic atlases (Vehrenberg and Lick),
he has listed several cadidates of mag~14 (e.g. 14.5 mag star at 22h 40m 56s
+43o 09' 12" J2000.0), but the lack of further adequate materials makes
comparison difficult. We would be very grateful if someone can help him or
take over the search. Iida's e-mail address is QFG00456@niftyserve.or.jp
(also a member of vsnet-alert).
