Norwegian Astronomical Society - Variable Star Section
1918+04 V1494 AQUILAE (Nova Aql 1999 No. 2)
Recent observation by B. H. Granslo (Blindern, Oslo, Norway) in
VSNET format:
Object YYMMDD(UT) Mag Obs Remarks
AQLV1494 991219.698 72 GRL 1-4;2-2;4+6 (2); seq. HIP (V-mag)
Instrument: 7x50 binoculars. Comparison stars are identified in
vsnet-alert 3778.
As already reported by R. Bouma and others, this nova has become
notably fainter during the last 24 hours or so, and has by now
faded three magnitudes from maximum. We thus have t3 = 16 days,
i.e. fairly close to T. Watanabe's prediction.
Yours sincerely,
Bjorn H. Granslo
