[vsnet-obs 1721] Book Review - Cataclysmic Variable Stars

Dear Colleagues,

In the weekend I borrowed the following book from an astronomical library :

Brian Warner,
Cataclysmic Variable Stars,
Cambridge Astrophysics Series: 28
Cambridge University Press, 1995

I think it is an excellent and up to date book. In nearly 600 pages it
covers all aspects of CV's:
 - theory and observational data for dwarf Novae, novae, novalikes, magnetic
systems.
 - history.
 - spectras.
 - photometry in all wavelengths.
 - accretion disc theory.
 - a lot of interesting tables and figures.
 - never gets too theoretical/mathematical (as many research papers do)
 - extensive list of refences.

This book must certainly be a kind of bible for all interested in CV's.
Some of you probably already know this book.

On vsnet I generally miss discussions/reviews on new variable star
articles/books
I think it would be a good idea if good (not all) new articles were
referenced on vsnet.
Just a few lines of abstract to indicate the content.
I also miss more discussions. It can be a bit boring just to read
observation reports.

Regards
