errrm, I did actually note that the ASAS3 observation was ~1.0 days after
the
Liller discovery observation, so it being brighter even at V at that earlier
time is not precluded, especially dependent on where the ASAS3 upper cut off
threshold is (ie were data gets rejected as saturated).

Incidentally, now it's fainter the improved astrometry will be of interest.
The current(?) Nelson best value is about an arcsec or two south of an
orange
star (2MASS undereddened colours) that has meagre evidence of low amplitude
variability [differing brigthness on comparison of two red plates in (CDS)
aladin, though admittedly the same plates sourced via NOFS don't seem to
show
the same... ...a matter of digitization I suppose.  Also, 0.8 difference
between J magnitudes from DENIS 2nd and 2MASS allsky, being absent in USNO
B1.0
but in GSC2.2 at 'V' ~ 17].
