Dear colleagues, Comet P/Tritton, which had been lost since 1978, was finally recovered. Now it is in outburst, and bright as 11-12 mag. On Oct. 6, just before the recovery was announced, the comet passed very close by a variable star GY Cnc. In fact, Mike Simonsen has observed it on Oct. 7.422 and reported it as fainter than 14.8 mag. At that time, the comet must be only 30 arcmin from GY Cnc!
