Message from John Greaves: === Hello Whilst looking at something else I've just accidentally noticed that an object classed as 'cv:' in the Downes and Shara CV lists, and which lies at 17h48m05.9s +34d04'01", coincides almost exactly with the HI radio source - > NVSS J174805+340400 > > R.A.2000 17h48m05.84s error 0.04 secs > Dec2000 +34 04' 00.0" error 0.6 arcsecs > > Major axis < 16.0 arcsecs > Minor axis < 15.3 arcsecs > > 1.4 GHz Integrated Flux Density 189.5 +/- 5.7 mJy > > Intergrated Linearly Polarized Flux Density 5.68 +/- 0.42 mJy > Linearly Polarized Flux Postion Angle in E Vector -59.3 +/- 1.5 degrees and given the general nature of the local field, which is busy with galaxies, and the fact that there is a reasonable amount of polarised radiation, I reckon it must be a qso/bllac/agn, rather than a CV, if variable at all.
