   Alternately, there may be a popular explanation in other astronomical
applications, such as SETI@home (this and other spectral analysis naturally
incoporate Fourier analysis).  Fourier analysis is a powerful tool in
all areas of astronomy, as well as a beutiful mathematical formulation --
this is one of the standard "course mathematics" in most? of universities
and colleges for scientists.
