I am sure > someone like Stan Walker could add more details. These articles are PVSS 16, 80 (1989), 17, 74 (1990), 19, 54 (1993), although I don't have an access to these issues. However, this report has been widely discussed (and sometimes referred) when interpreting the physics of dwarf nova outbursts. [It is a pity that PVSS articles are outside the free interenet access from many of amateur/professional scientists, in spite of their full of scientific information]. Knowing this information, we have been always trying to confirm such a phenomenon in well-observed dwarf novae, but have been unable to detect a very convicing case. One may remember that there was an ALEXIS alert of U Gem detectopm prior to the actual outburst, and called attention because of this particular interest.
