[vsnet-chat 6242] Quiescent magnitude of SS Aur

Regarding recent discussions of the quiescent magnitude of SS Aur, new
charts and a sequence file are now available online at
http://joevp.20m.com/charts/henden/And%20to%20Gem/

The photometry is from Arne Henden with an additional 115 comp star measured
by Doug West, and two stars from Tycho 2 for the bright end of the sequence.

As the current outburst subsides, scatter in the reported quiescent
magnitude is likely to become an issue again.
Direct comparison to the existing AAVSO sequence shows that some faint
magnitudes are in error by as much as 0.5V.

Notes:
1. There are two bright Tycho 2 stars that can fill in the bright end of
this
sequence.

06 12 30.83 +47 33 08.4 V=9.61, B-V=0.670
06 12 56.16 +47 54 18.0 V=10.46, B-V=1.041

2. Additional photometry was performed by Doug West for GSC 3379:0020.
(2000) 06 14 40.83 +47 48 09.8 V=11.47+/-0.04, B=12.05+/-0.05

3. *The actual quiescent magnitude is probably fainter than this.
