Hi Mike, I use the BAAVSS chart with a sequence by Ian Howarth. The comparisons differ greatly at the faint end to the Simonsen/Henden chart (for example the 155 star on the Simonsen/ Henden chart is 146 on the BAA one). When I re-reduce my estimate made on Feb 22.872 using the Henden sequence, my magnitude for SU UMa is 15.4 - in good agreement with your own. regards, Gary Poyner (PYG) ------------------------------------------------------------- Gary Poyner garypoyner@blueyonder.co.uk gp@star.sr.bham.ac.uk http://vsnet.garypoyner.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/varstars.html -------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Linnolt" <linnolt@hawaii.edu> To: "aavso discussion" <aavso-discussion@informer2.cis.McMaster.CA> Cc: "VSNETCHAT" <vsnet-chat@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp> Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2003 12:07 AM Subject: [vsnet-chat 6059] Re: SU UMA unusually faint > Its interesting that my faint observation was just shortly before it > outburst. > > 0803+62 SU UMA FEB 22.8720 2452693.372 14.9 PYG V > 0803+62 SU UMA FEB 23.3681 2452693.8681 15.3 LMK > 0803+62 SU UMA FEB 23.7972 2452694.2972 14.2 VJA > 0803+62 SU UMA FEB 24.7951 2452695.2951 11.9 GUN Y > > I would like to know what comp stars PYG and VJA used.
