In my opinion the best astro software you can get and its FREE.
Also check out the variable star software VAROBS on :
http://vsnet.astrosurf.com/astropc/varobs/index.html
a click on a variable star name and you get a map in Cartes du Ciel(if you have it installed)
and you can add "your" variable star.
