According to the recent catalogue of symbiotic stars (Belczynski et al.,
A&AS in press), ER Del has the following description.
> Cool component is S star of type S5.5/2.5. In the UV, there are emission
> lines with an ionization potential up to 47.9 eV and a strong UV continuum
> indicates the presence of a hot companion; in the optical spectrum there
> are emission lines of H I.
The object has been on the VSOLJ symbiotic monitoring program since 1995.
