This appears to be a *very* rapid burst. Here is my photometry from last night: HJD V B-V verr bverr 51437.6080 13.598 0.372 0.007 0.008 So the variable returned to its ~quiescent value in less than a half-day. Here is some additional photometry of the brighter stars in the field: GSC RA (J2000) DEC V B-V verr bverr 6848 3226 18:19:03.38 -25:19:40.8 8.972 0.829 0.008 0.019 6848 3882 18:19:21.62 -25:20:00.5 9.272 0.520 0.008 0.019 18:19:05.14 -25:22:20.1 9.838 0.751 0.008 0.019 18:18:58.80 -25:18:18.8 11.111 1.860 0.018 0.022 (errors are purely Poisson and don't reflect a possible zero point offset due to a single night of photometry.) Note that the third comparison star in this list is identical to the first, staturated star in Bruce Sumner's sequence: http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/sequence/sumner/gmsgr.seq Arne
