I, too, prefer "CoD" rather than "CD", but the 'official' Dictionary
uses "CD". Having the third letter both removes ambiguity and keeps the
format for the two catalogues the same, which makes computers happy.

...yes, and how many times was Uranus catalogued before being recognized
as a planet? _Lots_ of stuff slips by without being noticed!
