The early decline rate of Nova Aql 1999 was 0.3-0.5 mag/d, corresponding
to t3=6 (considering the maximum may have been missed, the value may become
a bit smaller). Though such very fast novae are very common, there are
several novae which showed even more rapid decline: V1500 Aql (t3=3.6d),
MU Ser (t3=5d), etc.. Among recent novae, V838 Her was such an example.
The expansion velocity measured at Bisei Observatory already suggested
the rapid nature (its velocity rivals that of MU Ser). Thanks to the
feat by Nakamura-san and the Bisei team, the nova was confirmed and
announced in its bright stage! Its another wonder of the internet.

Predicovery negative measurements by Kosaka-san, were made by his
automatic all-sky survey. If it were not in the rainy season, he must
have caught the nova during the gap before the discovery.
