This strategy sounds consistent, and I think I would in later versions
of my program follow this system. However, in my present VS IDs, I will
retain the present numbering system so that the lists can be handled without
significant modifications of the user's system.
In VSNET compilations, it would be more easy to convert USNO1425.09823278
to USNO-A1.0_1425.09823278, but I would prefer to use Vxxxx Cyg ;-)
