Hi Fraser and all,

This winter is definitely more cloudy than usual. Have other
southern
observers also had unusual cloudiness?
----------
Not here on the highveld in South Africa. We experience our
normal 'boring' winter weather, ie open sky for the last 3 months
with only occasional clouds and more often fire smoke, haze and
dust, but dry.
With hardly any wind around , the nightly viewing conditions are
often not as good as one would deduce from the daytime sky.
We do expect the el~nino effect to take place this rainy season. If I
remember well from the early 80-ies, it will bring some clouds along
but no rain. Let's await and see.
At least the e-mail works here again after the local LAN 'upgrade'.
Regards,
Berto Monard
