Dear Colleagues,
I have put on the VSNET WWW/ftp an I-band CCD image of the field of
V1830 Sgr, taken on 1991 Sep. 3, when the variable was probably in
quiescence. By comparing with the V-band chart, the 12-th magnitude
star north of the variable seems to be quite red (brightest in the entire
image!). Although the detail of the immediate surrounding of V1830 Sgr
was not better expressed than Downes and Shara, I hope this red-sensitive
image might somehow help identifying the object on unfiltered CCD images.
