[vsnet-chat 246] Q:rule of nomenclature of new variables




VSOLJ bulletin is already listed in "Astronomy and Astrophysics Abstracts".
Thus, it may be not problem.
Of course, IBVS is much better than VSOLJ bulletin.
Even if visual observations, it may be publish in IBVS as part of combination 
observation with photographic, photoelectric and/or CCD.

But they (VSOLJ bulletin and IBVS) has not good circulation for amateurs. 
This is another big problem need to solve soon.

Main point that I want to stress in my last post materials is little different.

It is;
As "criteria" of listing as new variable stars is not clear, it is difficult to 
encourage amateur nova hunters to also pay attention to new variables much more.

Yes :-)

But, sometimes it is one of motivation for amateur nova hunters as well as 
scientific interest.
