In IBVS No. 4463 H.-G. Reimann and C. Friedemann announced their
discovery of a possible new bright UG in Pisces. They note the range as
being approximately 12.44B - 16.17B, implying a possible visual maximum
of around 12.0. No mention is made of outburst frequency.
I have determined the following positions of the new variable from
the DSS and USNO A1.0:
R.A. Decl. (J2000)
var Psc 01 09 59.23 +28 01 25.0 USNO A1.0
01 09 59.15 +28 01 26.3 DSS
The USNO A1.0 position is to be preferred. Reimann and Friedemann
also provide the following B-magnitude comparison stars. V magnitudes
will need to be obtained before these stars can be used for reliable
magnitude estimates, but until then the following magnitudes will serve
as a guide:
Comp. star R.A. Decl. (J2000) B-magn.
1 01 10 07.7 +28 02 36 10.12
2 01 10 23.7 +27 57 04 12.25
3 01 10 17.4 +27 57 02 14.49
8 01 10 18.4 +28 04 11 14.34
9 01 09 21.4 +28 01 20 15.38
a 01 10 00.0 +27 59 22 11.42
c 01 09 34.3 +28 02 16 12.44
d 01 09 32.2 +28 00 23 12.95
f 01 09 59.0 +28 00 33 13.15
x 01 09 51.8 +27 59 15 14.08
All positions are again from USNO A1.0.
Good luck.
