    Thank you very much for your information.  It does look GSC stars in
this declination should look ~1 mag brighter visually.

    Inspecting further on literatures, I have found P. P. Petrov and V.
Satyvoldiev 1975, Perem. Zvezdy Sup. 2, 221 observed Sco T1 region including
this star.  In their table listed:

No. 9  SVS 1772  16h 08m.4  -28o 24' (1900)  V=13.0, B-V=+1.0

    This position roughly corresponds to the cataloged position.  They
probably had enough information to re-identify the object -- anything left
at Crimea?  If the observations were done without mis-identification, the
color makes U Gem classification unlikely.

    In the 62-nd name list of variable stars, V893 Sco = SVS 1772 was named
without references other than Astron. Tsirk. 711.  Can someone check
GCVS 3 supplements (missing here) for any further mentioning?
