[vsnet-chat 119] V893 Sco problem -Reply

Hi chatters-san,

I don't have GSC lists or software but from the coordinates given
by Kato-san I believe the GSC star he mentioned must be the
close neighbour to the V893 Sco location. I estimated its
magnitude at 12.0 (from there <12.0 reporting) which agrees well
with the 13.0 GSC value considering the combined uncertainty
mainly resulting from the major systematic error present in most of
the GSC sequences at Southern declinations. The limiting
magnitude of my apogee 40x120 is around 12.5V on clear nights.
Therefore: it's not V, it's not p, it's GSC!

Regards,

Berto Monard
