PU CMa: refined superhump period Dear Colleagues, We have received new data sets (two nights) from Berto Monard. They beutifully show clear superhumps. Thanks to the data coverage which is getting more and more extensive(!), we have been able to uniquely pin down the superhump period to be 0.05789(2) d. This period is 2.1% longer than the orbital period. This fractional superhump excess is rather high for this short-period system, suggesting that the secondary is slightly massive or the primary is undermassive. The properties of PU CMa outbursts (not so extreme as in WZ Sge stars) may be explained by this superhump analysis. We even have a further prospect to determine the period derivative. Please keep observing as much as you can!! Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
