XZ Eri: faint! rapid decline phase? Dear Colleagues, Torii-san (RIKEN) just informed that XZ Eri has faded rather unexpectedly. The object is reported to be around 16.5 outside the eclipses. It may be either possible that the object entered the rapid decline phase of a superoutburst (earlier than expected?, true outburst maximum happened earlier??), or the object may be undergoing a "dip-like" fading as is sometimes seen in WZ Sge-type dwarf novae, such as AL Com and WZ Sge etc. The object is undoubtedly experiencing a new important aspect of the superoutburst. In either above cases, we can expect a rebrightening within a week (former case) or in a few days (the latter case). Further observations are very important. Even if the object looks too faint for your instrument, please keep the time-resolution which you are currently using -- time-resoliution during eclipses is very important. Looking forward to your succesful observations! Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
