HH Cnc: long outburst without clear superhumps Dear Colleagues, We have been following HH Cnc since the detection of the recent outburst. The observations have shown that the present outburst is a "long" outburst, in contrast to the short one recorded in 1999 November. A partial analysis of the data, especially taken at Ouda (Ishioka-san) and Torii-san (RIKEN), did not reveal clear presence of superhumps. Ishioka-san reports that the object has started fading (0.3 mag fainter on Jan. 12 compared to Jan. 11). Juding from the outburst behavior, HH Cnc seems to be an SS Cyg type dwarf nova possibly with a relatively short orbital period. We don't perfectly exclude, however, the possibility of a system similar to TU Men. Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
