[vsnet-alert 7880] Suspected object near HX Peg - CCD image down to mag 18

Dear all,

I made a second attempt tonight to image the field near HX Peg, using the
0.35-m f/6.3 telescope of CBA Belgium Observatory. Mid-time of observation :
0h35m UT on Sep 21, 2003. I collected 10 unfiltered CCD images of 60 sec
each and stacked them to obtain 1 final "deep" image. The limiting mag of
the resulting image is above mag 18.0 (red), but again there is no
indication of a new object near the indicated position.

Looking forward to hearing about further observations obtained with big
instruments ...

Best regards,
Tonny Vanmunster

Subject: [vsnet-alert 7874] URGENT TIME CRITICAL - Large aperture
observations needed!

The transient object whose information is given on my website

http://vsnet2.hawaii.edu/~linnolt/HXPegtransient.html

is apparently fading rapidly, as evidenced by the nature of the light
curve ending at Sep 20 11:28UT and the negative observations to V=16 or 17
at 18UT.

Anyone with large aperture and can get down faint is requested to observe
this region ASAP!

Thank you very much,
Mike Linnolt
