The star near the center of the DSS red image for NSV 9182 had already been recorded much brighter (CR mag 12-13) on an unfiltered CCD image taken with the University of Iowa Rigel telescope on July 5.255 UT. Unfortunately all follow-up observations failed (images off-target or limiting magnitude too bad). Catalog positions (J2000.0): USNO-A2.0 17h35m03.568s -18o13'18.99" B= 18.0 R= 15.4 GSC 2.2 17h35m03.546s -18o13'20.28" R= 14.74 UCAC1 17h35m03.557s -18o13'20.40" 2MASS 17h35m03.57s -18o13'20.4" Certainly not a CV but a red variable.
