Re: V589 Her : a new UGSU-type dwarf nova ! In combination with the quiescent identification (cf. vsnet-alert 6070, 6071, 6073 etc.), the amplitude (~3 mag) of the outburst may be somewhat too small for an SU UMa-type superoutburst (the low outburst frequency seems to preclude an ER UMa-type object). There may be a possibility that the true quiescence is fainter than inferred from DSS/USNO/Henden magnitudes, or that the present modulations have a different nature from usual superhumps (lower amplitude, more irregular profile), or that the object may be an unusual SU UMa-type system. Further observations of the present outburst are extremely important in discriminating these possibilities. New outburst images have been already transferred to Yamaoka-san for more detailed outburst astrometry. Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
