A simple check around the nominal x-ray positions suggests
a possible ID for one of the objects:
XMMU J004438.1+414511 = ? 2RXP J004438.1+414514
Several mag. ~21 stars also appear within the uncertainty circles in
the catalogue by Magnier et al. (1992A&AS...96..379M, catalogue II/208
in VizieR), which has BVI photometry for ~50,000 stars in M31.
