Dear all, Our domestic observer has reported that an apparent supernova (about 13.3 mag) has been detected in NGC 6239. The reported position is R.A.=16h50m05s.7, Decl.=+42o44'23" (J2000.0), which is quite near to the center of the galaxy. He also report that no known asteroid were there in his observation time, and no star was found at this position in his reference image and the Cernegie atlas. NGC 6239 is SBb galaxy with bright core and some blobs. It is about on the same distance as Virgo, so it can become 12 mag or so if it is of type Ia. And if so, it is quite important to confirm the earlier for gamma-ray observation and in any other wavelength. This is the reason to do the wide confirming request. Thank you in advance, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Taichi Kato
