Dear VSNETers,
Several BAA observers have noted a rapid fade of the nebular variable
AB Aur during the past 24 hrs - fading from 6.9 (Nov 30.8) to 8.1
(Dec 01.8). Has anyone else recorded similar activity?
Our data is incomplete on this star, but a similar fade was recorded in
1975, when AB Aur reached below magnitude 8 within a day or so. Apparently
the fade was a short term event, lasting only a few days.
regards,
Gary Poyner
