Minori Oka, Oohito-cho, Shizuoka-ken, Japan, announced his discovery of
an object of mag 14.3 (0.105-m refractor + red filter + ST-7 CCD) on
May 25.48 UT at R.A. = 13h29m04s.2, Decl. = +47o16'42" (equinox 2000.0),
which is about 10' northwest of the nucleus of NGC 5194 = M51
("The Whirlpool Galaxy" in Canes Venatici). Another image with
red filter and an image with green filter show this object, but an image
with blue filter does not. CCD images on May 22 show no object.
