CCD observations of September 2002
observer: Berto Monard MLF, Pretoria, South Africa
Bronberg observatory / CBA Pretoria
location: -25 º 54' 48", 28º 26' 44"E, altitude 1590m
instrumentation: LX200 12" f/4.2 with ST-7E, unfiltered
conditions: clear
reported CR magnitudes result from differential photometry to non-red
comparison stars with R magnitudes (directly or derived) from
published
photometric data or traceable to UCAC1 (comparison stars selected from
USNO-A2.0 data on the basis of non-red colour and reliability of the
data).

* the image was made only a few minutes before that of NGC2642, which
showed the presence of what is now SN 2002fj. The image of NGC 1309 did
not show any trace of SN 2002fk yet. This prediscovery image (.fts) is
available for analysis.
