VSSPlot version 1.10 by Fraser Farrell

(from the document)

Attached is a self-extracting ZIPfile of VSSPlot version 1.10, incorporating some of the changes suggested by users of version 1.01. Hopefully I've cured the problem with some laser printers not quite completing the page - and fixed that Period Analysis bug. Some user suggestions for performance enhancement will not be implemented as they are too machine-specific, and I want to maintain max compatibility for the sake of all users.

The Period Analysis function is still under construction, but I thought it better to release this version for you all to play with; so that I get told about all the other things that are wrong too g! This also applies to the AAVSO and VSOLJ file reading functions - VSSPlot worked OK on my small example files, but I wonder how it will cope with huge files?

Incidentally, if there's some marvellous analytical method you would like VSSPlot to support, feel free to send me the details and/or journal references. I have a few thoughts for the later versions myself.

You will need to "Configure VSSPlot" at the main menu BEFORE you do anything else - unless you too have a 24-pin printer and live in timezone UT+9.5h!

cheers,
Fraser Farrell

VSSPlot version 2 (beta) now available

(vsnet-chat 634)

G'day all,

I have been working slowly to upgrade and improve the VSSPlot data analysis utility, which has now reached Version 2 (beta). The new and improved features of this version are described on the new "VSSPlot Page" at http://www.dove.net.au/~fraserf/vssplot.htm.

It is now time for other users to try it out to uncover remaining bugs, missing functions, inconsistencies, and the 101 other things I haven't done properly. This is a beta version, and your comments will help me to construct a better Version 2 which can be safely used by anyone :)

VSSPlot 2b may be downloaded from the VSSPlot Page. I can also email you the UUencoded ZIPfile if you do not have WWW access.

cheers,
Fraser Farrell
