[vsnet-alert 5145] NGC 524 sequence

     Kevin Krisciunas has provided a BVRI comparison sequence around the
bright supernova in NGC 524.  I list below positions from the GSC-ACT and data
from Kevin's Web site (http://vsnet.astro.washington.edu/kevin/apo.html), which
contains the observational details and a labelled image.  Note that the B-V
colors for the stars are somewhat too blue if the VRI colors are correct.
Two of these stars appear with magnitudes on the AAVSO chart
(http://charts.aavso.org/PRELIM/PSC/NGC_524), but only the brighter one has
the magnitude correct.
