UGC 52, a host galaxy of SN 2002hw is a spiral galaxy. The expected maximum
for typical SN Ia is mag about 16.2 (vsnet-campaign-sn
501). The CfA team revealed that it was a type Ia SN a few days before
maximum light but reddened (vsnet-campaign-sn
