SN 2002es

SN 2002es was discovered on LOTOSS KAIT images. It was about 16.4mag on August 23.5. UGC 2708, the host galaxy of SN 2002es (offset 19"W, 25"N), is a lenticular galaxy, which produce SN Ia only. The reported magnitude was consistent with the expected maximum for typical SN Ia (vsnet-campaign-sn 466). The Cfa team and the UCB team revealed that it was a peculiar (subluminous) type Ia SN near maximum on Sept. 3 (vsnet-campaign-sn 470, 471).
