MM Sco: A New SU UMa star with P=0.061d

mmscosh

R. Stubbings detected a relatively rare outburst (14.0mag) of MM Sco on September 5 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2816). B. Monard took time-series CCD photometry of MM Sco on Sep. 10-11. The data clearly showed the presence of 0.1 mag humps, which were most likely superhumps. A preliminary period analysis suggested that the superhump period was around 0.062 d (vsnet-campaign-dn 2835). H. Yamaoka examined DSS images and confirmed the identification of Downes' online chart (vsnet-campaign-dn 2837). Using observations by B. Monard and R. Santallo, T. Kato reported a refined superhump period of 0.06136(4) d (vsnet-campaign-dn 2843, 2849). The "secondary superhumps" appeared on September 12 around phase 0.4 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2849, 2840).
