kappa CMa

S. Otero reported that kappa CMa experienced an eruption of V=3.5mag at the end of January 2002. This is over the recorded variability range in the GCVS (V= 3.78 - 3.96), and recently the star has been at 3.7 - 3.8 when at minimum, meaning that the mean magnitude has been changing (vsnet-campaign-be 160, 161). Then, the object slowly faded. Observations by S. Otero showed that it was 3.70mag on March 2 (vsnet-campaign-be 177).
