CR Boo: Long, Bright State

A bright outburst of CR Boo was reported at 13.2mag on January 11 by H. Itoh (vsnet-campaign-dn 2041). The outburst was confirmed at 13.6mag on January 12 by M. Simonsen (vsnet-campaign-dn 2043).

The next outburst of 13.3mag was reported by M. Simonsen on January 25 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2074).

The outburst since February 18 was reported to have a relatively long duration, indicating a superoutburst (vsnet-campaign-dn 2139, 2141).

M. Uemura reported a new outburst of CR Boo on March 8 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2161). He also detected superhumps, which provided evidence for the superoutburst nature of the current outburst. The last outburst had occurred two weeks ago (vsnet-campaign-dn 2174). The outburst faded around March 13 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2171, 2188).

A new outburst was reported by M. Simonsen on March 22 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2207). The Kyoto team reported that the object had remained at 13.6mag without fading since March 21. Such a state without fading is rather atypical for superoutbursts and is difficult to be explained with the disk-instability model for dwarf nova outbursts (vsnet-campaign-dn 2215). The object began fading on March 30. The atypical plateau lasted for, at least 7 days (vsnet-campaign-dn 2223).

An outburst at 13.8mag was reported on April 12 by M. Simonsen (vsnet-campaign-dn 2294). Subsequent reported observations implied that the object then entered in a relatively bright state of ~14mag (vsnet-campaign-dn 2329, 2401, 2412, 2421, 2523, 2570, 2594, 2621). Some brightenings were observed: about 13.8mag during May 3 and 4 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2342, 2356), 13.7mag on May 31 and 13.5mag on June 1 (vsnet-campaign-dn 2490).
