AG Hya : SU UMa-type dwarf nova? A long outburst in January
R. Stubbings reported that the dwarf nova AG Hya has been in
a long outburst since January 14. This star was formerly suspected as
an SU UMa-type dwarf nova, mainly based on its high frequency of short
outbursts. T. Kato previously performed a CCD run during the other
possible long outburst, which showed a flat light curve, more favors
an SS Cyg-type classification. However, the observation covered
a only tiny part of a (unknown type) outburst
(vsnet-campaign 709).
The long outburst continued
(vsnet-campaign-dn 412)
until January 26 when R. Stubbings reported the magnitudes of 15.1mag
indicating it started fading
(vsnet-campaign-dn 421).
No results of time-series observations were reported in this outburst.
Follow-up observations are encouraged in 2002.
