EP Car: Possible short time modulations during February outburst
A. Pearce reported an outburst (14.8mag) of the suggested dwarf nova EP Car
on February 16
(vsnet-alert 4232).
The GCVS does not presented the true position of EP Car
(vsnet-alert 4234).
Some results of astrometry were reported: RA=10h28m23s.138 Dec=-58d57'58".21
identified with mb=20.8, mr=17.6 USNO star (by G. Garradd;vsnet-alert 4235); RA=10h28m23s.24, Dec=-58d57'58".7
identified with mb=18.7, mr=17.7 USNO star (by B. Skiff;
vsnet-alert 4236,
4239);
RA=10h28m24s.4, Dec=-58d58'01" identified with mb=18.5, mr=18.5 USNO star
(by M. Morel;vsnet-alert 4237)
(vsnet-alert 4241).

(CCD images taken by G. Garradd
vsnet-alert 4240)
G. Garradd performed a 6-hour time-series photometry during the outburst.
The first half of the data seemed to be indicate the presence of 0.1-mag
modulation, which might be attributed to superhumps
(vsnet-alert 4238).
The second half of the data did not convincingly confirmed the recurring
nature of the hump. The object brightened again by 0.1 mag at around
February 17 14 h UT, but remained bright for at least the following two hours.
The possibility of superhumps with a period shorter than 2 hours can be
safely precluded, but the possibility for a longer period still remains
(vsnet-alert 4245).
