BF Ara: Candidate of the first southern ER UMa-type dwarf nova ?
A bright long outburst in June - July
The dwarf nova BF Ara is reported to be in a bright outburst (14.2mag)
since around June 29. At least one article (IBVS 2286) reported the
possible presence of a superhump. The interval of outbursts as short as 7 d
is also rather exceptional for an SS Cyg-type star. Since BF Ara had
a bright outburst in April, this star, if confirmed to be an SU UMa-type
dwarf nova, may be the first southern ER UMa star
(vsnet-campaign 286,
347).
The long outburst has finally faded around July 16 (<15.0)
(vsnet-campaign-dn 30).
A bright long outburst in September - October
R. Stubbings detected the other bright outburst at 13.9mag on September 24.
(vsnet-campaign 511,
vsnet-campaign-dn 177).
R. Stubbings reported <14.4 and <14.0 mag on October 4 and 8, respectively,
which indicated the fading from this bright outburst
(vsnet-campaign-dn 192).
