Kesao Takamizawa (Nagano, Japan) reports his discovery of a new variable star (tentatively designated here as J205239-2020) with an amplitude of 1.6 mag. The object is located at 20h 52m 39s.27 -20o 19' 59".8 (J2000.0), corresponding to a 12.9-mag GSC star. The type of variability is still unknown. Observations during the present season of good visibility are encouraged.
