G'day all,

Although it's been raining almost all evening here, I did get a _quick_
eyeball of Nova Vel. The only useable comparison at the time was
Mu Vel (mag 2.7v):

star yyyymmdd (UT) mag
--------------------------------
VELNOVA1999 19990522.125 2.9:

Some finder and comparison charts (courtesy of Guide 6.0 and the
YBS5 & Tycho Catalogues) are now available from:

http://vsnet.assa.org.au/vstars/nvvel99.htm

These go from mag 0.8 down to 10.2. If it gets too bright,
there's also Alpha and Beta Cen (mags 0.0 and 0.6 respectively).

cheers,
Fraser Farrell
