この週末にまたしてもBeppoSAX衛星がγ線バーストを検出したようです。
これは、WFC/BeppoSAXが検出したうちで最も明るいものだと報告されています
(IAUC 6853)。
SAXは主観測装置であるNFIで追観測を行い、X線afterglow候補の天体を発見し
ました。下に BeppoSAXチームからのメイルを添付します。

BeppoSAX follow-up observation of GB980329 with the Narrow Field
Instruments started on March 29, 10:48 UT, i.e.  about 7 hours after the
event.  Preliminary analysis of the first 3 orbits of MECS and LECS shows
a source within the WFC error box.

Position is:
alpha(2000)=105.65
delta(2000)=38.85

with a conservative estimation of the error radius of  2'

We do not expect a significant improvement of the position in the next
hours.
