[vsnet 216] Nova Cas 1995 sequence

Nova Cas observers,
     Here is summary of two nights on a photometric sequence near Nova Cas
1995. As with the first night, the second night also made use of 18
standard stars, with resulting mean rms residuals of +/- 0.006 mag. in V and
0.007 in b-y. I again used the bright star HD 6250 as a local zero-point
check.  Olsen (1983 A&AS 54,55) gives V = 6.833 +/-0.002 and b-y = 0.342
+/- 0.001 for this star from four observations.
     The list now includes single observations of the bright star
"D" = HD 7178, and star "H" = BD+53 215.  Both "H" and "G" are fairly red
stars, so both visual and CCD observers should be careful of color terms
in their results. Also, note that the observation of the nova is not
strictly on the standard system because of the mismatch of the emission-line
spectrum to that of ordinary standard stars.
\Brian
