     Paczynski's paper is a hopeful one, but more amazing is that the
Los Alamos preprint server is even running.  The Los Alamos town was
completely evacuated last week due to a massive forest fire, and the 
computer system has been running unattended for several days.  About 200
homes in the town have been burned, but somehow the telephone lines have
stayed up, and 'astro-ph' has worked without a hitch through it all.
Some 42,000 acres (~15,000 hectares) of forest have burned so far.
