GO Com: fading again? Dear Colleagues, The VSNET Collaboration has received new data from Jochen Pietz (two nights) and Brian Martin. The data seem to suggest that the object is fading from the recent transient(?) brightening. It may be also a singature of the terminal stage of the superoutburst plateau (if it is the case, the duration is somewhat short than expected), or the beginning of an oscillation phase, as observed in WZ Sge 2001. The unusual period behavior of the superhumps is now firmly established. There was a sudden period change before the brightening, and the superhumps now maintains the longer period. The overall (averaged) superhump period change (Pdot) is positive. GO Com is now experiencing a very important stage of a superoutburst -- after which the object may enter the rapid fading stage, or enter a dip or even oscillating phase as seen in several WZ Sge stars, such as AL Com. Intensive observations are thus very highly encouraged! Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
