RX Vol: refined superhump period Dear Colleagues, We have received two nights' data from Berto Monard. The data clearly show that the superhumps further grew after Nelson's initial observation. We were indeed witnessing the early evolutionary stage of the superhumps! A full set of May 5 data now yields the best superhump period of 0.06123(8) d (note that the quoted error is purely statistical). All the hump maxima between May 4 and 5 have been smoothly linked with a single period. There is a marginal hint of period lengthening, which is expected for such short Psh systems. At this early stage, there is a further possibility of an additional period evolution, which needs to be followed with continuous observations. Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
